Diacom Plus Marine Pc Software Download
I have been bidding on eBay for a year and a half tying to win an auction for Diacom Marine and finally last weekend I scored.This version is 1.0.130.It is a windows 98/NT/2000/XP version from about 2002. No manual came with this package so other than the help screens I am at a loss.I have some questions about how it is used.Are there any Wizards out there?1) Do you need the engine running to communicate with the ECU or can you communicate with just the key on?2) How do I use it to set the base timing?3) Has anyone downloaded calibration files from the tool menu. Do I need a password to use the option?4) Is there a program available to help build calibration files?5) Does anyone know the format of the calibration files?

I probed the ALDL connector with my Volt-Ohm meter and found that pins A&B were connected. That puts the MEFI in Diagnostic mode which disables the timing advance. With the timing advance disabled you can set the base timing with a timing light.Being an Electrical Engineer I could not leave it at that so I opened up the small 2x3 inch box that forms a lump in the cable. I found a, and a, a crystal clock for the PIC, a diode, five transistors, 12 resistors and 12 capacitors mounted on a circuit board.I assume it is close in function to this with the PIC chip programmed to convert the ALDL data stream to something intelligible by the serial port, like ASCII code. The 8192 baud ALDL data stream is encoded somewhat like NRZI so it can't be read directly by the serial port. I have a test jig setup and I have been using a MEFI I to play with most of the winter because that is the only cheep MEFI I have been able to win off of eBay. It works pretty well, I get realtime info like an engine monitor would display but so far I have not been able to successfully download cal files.

I still need to break the code. Any MEFI hackers out there? I still need some help.It was 80 last weekend. I am ready to hit the water but Ms. MoonDawg is on a boondoggle to China (That translates to Quad Kid Duty for Me for the entire weekend). Hope next weekend is better.
