If you go to the legendary subforum you can find lots of information on expansions. But since I use to go a lot, I'll summarize for you.Dark city is the most widely accepted 'best expansion' because it adds a lot of xmen and only a few new concepts in addition to making the game harder.The fantastic 4 expansion is widely toughted as a great expansion when you use the set together with the caveat of being expensive currently.I highly recommend villians. It incorporated a ton of 'take that' mechanics which I love since it's semi coop.Guardians I'd say is the best small box. It's fun and adds a bunch of new mechanics. I love the shards that it introduced.Paint the town red was alright. Wall crawl is a great ability.The secret wars added too many new concepts at once and many of the cards only make sense within the secret wars group.
It's hard to fit them in with the other cards for theme, but idc about that. Faithful Resurrection was a weird mechanic that I personally don't like.
It also confuses my players all the time but it's simple. This also added many new hard villians.I have the cap expansion, yet to play it though.
I enjoyed the cards and I can't wait to play falcon. That's more than enough to keep you going for a long time, but.If you like Spider-man,is a must.Avoid the expansion, it is out of print, will likely stay that way for a long time (Disney-Marvel hates Fox for hanging on to the movie rights) and is way too expensive for what it is.The Secret Wars sets, are cool but between the sets there aren't enough heroes or masterminds that I care enough about to pay the going rate.Since you already have Villains, you might have a look at, its only 'official' expansion.
