The book is normally known by the title, not the subtitle: 'Basics' (people will sometimes say 'Simon Fischer's Basics').It's a fantastic book. For that matter, all of Fischer's books are fantastic. He's the closest thing to a modern-day Sevcik.Experienced violinists can easily go through Basics and pick out the exercises that are useful for them. Ditto teachers looking for exercises for students. I find his left-hand drills to be particularly useful, especially the intonation section.It's not really intended for beginners who are trying to self-teach, but it seems like people use it that way anyway.
